Description:
The Benefits Manager is part of the core Total Rewards Team that manages the design, execution, and maintenance of benefit programs for Clyde Companies and its subsidiaries.
Job Responsibilities
Provide expert administration of benefit systems and programs, including medical, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, supplemental insurance, and other benefit programs.
Develop, implement, and maintain a benefits communication and education program that enhances employee understanding. Increase participation and engagement rates in benefit programs.
Partner with internal partners (Legal, Finance, Payroll, HR Business Partners, HR Systems) and external partners to improve awareness of programs and employee experience.
Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including ERISA reporting and disclosure requirements, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, FLSA, ACA, PCORI, etc.
Oversee annual benefits audit, working with auditor to provide all data required for the audit and ensure timely filing of the form 5500 and 990.
Work with broker to ensure timely completion of schedule A 1094 / 1095 completion and distribution to employees.
Complete annual review of all plan documents and ensure they are updated and distributed according to federal regulations.
Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators.
Be the subject matter expert on benefit programs offered by Clyde Companies and provide customer service support to internal and external customers.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with plan administrators, vendors, and company employees.
In partnership with Director of Total Rewards, coordinate with broker on all plan design changes and annual benefit renewals.
Lead annual open enrollment, including changes to benefit guides, design changes within admin platform and employee education.
Lead new benefit programs and vendor implementations.
Coordinate daily benefits processing: Enrollments, COBRA, Life Events, beneficiaries, disability, accident, and death claims, Workers Compensation, leaves of absence impacting benefits.
Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of benefits-related tasks.
Leveraging system and process automation to reduce benefits administration.
Manage the training and development of benefits specialist who administers the benefit programs.
Evaluate and revise internal processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency while ensuring quality standards are maintained.
Generate quarterly program performance reports: Benefits utilization, benefit actual spend compared to budget. Identify trends and provide actionable insights.
Manage employee benefits survey, recommend revisions, modifications and new programs based on performance and employee feedback.
Partner with finance and accounting to ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices, benefit payments, deductions, and contributions.
Use HRIS and advanced Excel skills to create mail files and analyze data.
Participate in industry benefit surveys and stay up to date on best practices and trends in Employee benefits.
Supports HR due diligence work related efforts with acquisitions.
Perform other duties as required.

Strong organization and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Vendor management experience, including managing Requests for Proposal (RFP) and vendor selection process.
Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
Strong understanding of employee benefit programs, compensation, insurance products, and retirement plans.
Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion.
Knowledge of benefit contract language.
Ability to maintain professional and positive attitude.
Education and Certificates:
Minimum 3-5 years direct people management experience.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
Five years of experience administering benefit programs equivalent experience in insurance related field.
Strong background in benefit program administration
Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) or other related certification a plus
Physical Requirements:
Physical Work Requirements - Light: exerting up to 15 lbs of force occasionally.
Repetitive motion associated with operating various types of equipment.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Occasional travel to job sites, work locations and job-related training.
