JOB TITLE: AutoCAD Intern 

 

JOB LOCATION: Orem, UT 

 

JOB TYPE: Internship (Part-Time or Full-Time) 

 

REPORT TO: Director, Mining and Environmental   

 

 

JOB OVERVIEW:  

 

We are seeking a motivated AutoCAD Intern to support our mining and environmental teams in designing and updating mining and reclamation plans. This internship offers hands-on experience in drafting, plan development, and spatial analysis in a real-world mining operation environment. Ideal for students or recent graduates pursuing engineering, drafting, or environmental science.  

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Mining/Reclamation: 

  •  Create and edit AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawings to support mining and reclamation plans. 

  •  Assist in updating maps and exhibits for permitting, reporting, and internal planning. 

  •  Support the engineering team with technical drawings and design layouts. 

  •  Conduct field data entry and prepare site maps based on GPS or drone-collected data using platforms like Propeller. 

  •  Help maintain organized drawing and document archives. 

  •  Collaborate with engineers and environmental professionals on design updates. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

  • Actively pursuing or recently completed a degree in Drafting, Civil/Mining Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field. 

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required. 

  • Familiarity with drone mapping platforms such as Propeller is a plus. 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation. 

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and site plans. 

  • Willingness to learn and take initiative. 

  • Good communication and organizational skills.
