JOB TITLE: SENIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT
JOB LOCATION: CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS - OREM
FUNCTION: The Senior Staff Account is responsible for training and supervising staff accountants in month-end close and other accounting processes.
REPORTING TO: SENIOR CORPORATE CONTROLLER
KEY ACTIVITIES:
Supervise the month-end close process in conjunction with subsidiary controllers;
Oversee the creation and review of all month-end general ledger, job cost, and equipment entries;
Review and approve balance sheet reconciliations;
Teach and mentor interns and other junior finance team members
Manage state and local sales and use taxes, property tax, IFTA tax and Heavy Highway tax;
Make recommendations towards sound business decisions while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures;
Develop best practices for accounting processes across subsidiaries providing consistency, efficiency, and accuracy in financial reporting;
Optimize process procedures and documentation (continuity and best practices)
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and supplemental management reports
Collaborate with other departments on designing and building operational reports
Oversee the accounting for fixed assets and associated tax reporting
Mentor interns and other junior finance team members
Collaborate within the finance team as well as cross-functionally with various business units
Build out audit workpapers and PBC schedules to assist in multiple audits throughout the year
Support events team with settling shows throughout the year
Liaise between external food vendors and business analysts on optimum pricing and variety
Assist the operational teams in building business plans for multiple entities
Preparing analysis and KPI’s for the ticketing and premium departments
Labor tracking and optimization through ABI software
Support partner resources with ensuring accurate capture of data into a variety of systems
Manage close process and checklist
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Demonstrates high moral and ethical standards;
Thorough understanding of internal controls and audit requirements;
Well-organized and able to collaborate with other team members and senior executives;
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and a strong knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, including a sound understanding of financial forecasting;
Strong written and verbal communication skills;
Ability to effectively collaborate with other team members;
Sound computer skills, including strong abilities with Microsoft Excel & Office applications;
Demonstrated experience using business models, budget comparisons and forecasting.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting;
3+ Years Staff Accountant experience preferred;
Clear track record of progress/promotion in work history.

Physical Work Requirements - Light: exerting up to 10 lbs of force occasionally;
Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment;
Inside, climate-controlled working conditions;
Occasional travel and outdoor working conditions associated with reviews and audits.
